The Mississauga Steelheads have cashed in big.
The Ontario Hockey League club announced Friday that it traded the rights to 16-year-old forward Tanner Adams to the Sudbury Wolves.
In exchange, the Steelheads receive 15 draft picks from the Wolves, plus two compensatory picks from the league.
Adams, who is from Northern Ontario, was selected by the Steelheads as the No. 3 pick in the 2026 OHL Draft.
In 52 games last season playing for The Hill Academy, a private sports school in Caledon, Ont., Adams recorded 88 points (34 goals and 54 assists).
The Steelheads’ entire haul from the Wolves for Adams includes:
• 2027 OHL Priority Selection: Second-round pick (Ottawa), third-round pick (Brantford), fifth-round pick (Peterborough) and 10th-round pick (Sudbury)
• 2028 OHL Priority Selection: Second-round pick (Windsor), third-round pick (Oshawa), fourth-round pick (Flint) and fifth-round pick (Peterborough)
• 2029 OHL Priority Selection: Second-round pick (Peterborough), third-round pick (Oshawa), fourth-round pick (Windsor) and sixth-round pick (Sudbury)
• 2030 OHL Priority Selection: Second-round pick (Brantford), fifth-round pick (Sudbury) and sixth-round pick (Kitchener)
While from the league they receive:
• 2027 OHL Priority Selection: Fifth-overall pick, Second-round pick at the conclusion of the second round
