Report: Red Wings' Dylan Larkin expands trade list to 10 teams

Dylan Larkin has reportedly opened up his trade request to include more teams.

Helene St. James of The Detroit Free Press reports that Larkin’s trade list now includes the Florida Panthers, Minnesota Wild, Vegas Golden Knights, Dallas Stars, Washington Capitals, Carolina Hurricanes, Utah Mammoth, Tampa Bay Lightning, New Jersey Devils and Colorado Avalanche.

The now-former captain of the Red Wings requested a trade in the spring and St. James reported at the time that he was only open to a move to the Panthers, Wild and Golden Knights.

While former general manager Steve Yzerman fielded calls for Larkin, once he was removed from his post on July 15, those talks stalled while the Red Wings searched for a new head of hockey operations. That search is ongoing but Shawn Horcoff was elevated to interim general manager in September and seemingly has the authority to complete a Larkin trade.

St. James reports one of the reasons a trade has not happened yet is that the Red Wings continue to ask for “value-now” players instead of a package of prospects and draft picks.

One team notably not on Larkin’s trade list is the Montreal Canadiens, even after Canadiens fans chanted “we want Larkin!” during a recent visit by the Red Wings.

Larkin has one goal and three points in six games for the Red Wings this season after missing training camp with an upper-body injury.
